15 traditional handicraft villages to participate in Bat Trang village festival

Bat Trang pottery village festival will take place at Bat Trang communal house in Gia Lam district, Hanoi, from March 11th to 13th.

The festival will draw the participation of 15 traditional handicraft villages, including Van Phuc silk village, Phung Xa textile village and An Duong embroidery village. About 150 handicraft products will be on display at the event.

The information was released at a press briefing held on March 9th by Vietnam Association of Craft Villages, in coordination with the Organizing Board of Bat Trang pottery village festival.

Bat Trang is an ancient village located on the north bank of the Red River, in Bat Trang commune, Gia Lam district. The village festival is held annually at full moon of the second lunar month to honour the significance of traditional pottery and remind modern pottery-makers to remember the roots of their trade. Moreover, this festival is also an opportunity for people to make offerings to the patron spirit of potters, wishing for riches, a strong community, and peace.
