Nga Do
As many as 45 free wifi hotspots will be available in 21 major tourist destinations in Ha Giang city and the four mountainous districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac.

Director of the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications in Ha Giang Nguyen Van Bac said the wifi hotspots will become operational early this month.

Among areas with free Wifi coverage are Lung Cu flagpole, Vuong family historical relic site, Dong Van ancient town, Lung Cam cultural village in Dong Van district, Quan Ba heaven gate in Quan Ba district, Ma Pi Leng peak, and Meo Vac night market in Meo Vac district.

The free Wifi provision is expected to help locals and visitors alike have easy access to the Internet and information on Ha Giang as well as the cultures of local ethnic minority groups.

The move is also part of the locality’s efforts of finalizing its infrastructure system and increasing service quality for tourists during festivals and big events, especially the second Tam Giac Mach (buckwheat) flower festival and the Mong culture festival in Ha Giang.

Before Ha Giang, Hoi An, Hue, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Ha Long, Da Lat, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi also offered free Wi-fi coverage at public destinations, contributing to attracting more tourists, providing information on accommodations, cuisine and travel.
