The procession ritual of Thai Vi Temple Festival

Located in Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province, Thai Vi Temple is not far from Tam Coc – Bich Dong landscape. It was built to commemorate contribution of generations of Tran Kings. The temple was constructed right on the ground where King Tran Thai Tong chose to build the ancient imperial palace Thai Vi.

Every year, Thai Vi Temple Festival takes place on the 14th day of the 3rd lunar month, with numerous activities such as palanquin procession, sacrifice ceremony, human chess playing, wrestling contest, dragon dancing and boat rowing, etc.

On the morning of the 14th day of the 3rd lunar month, the procession, which comprises of 30 troupes coming from districts across Ninh Binh province, approaches Thai Vi temple. 

Thai Vi Temple Festival includes the Procession and Sacrifice rituals. The procession is often led by a drum carried by two people, followed by people carrying 5 flags representing five elements of the universe.

The procession arrived at Thai Vi Temple.  

Attending Thai Vi temple festival is an occasion we visited the popular scenic spots of Ninh Binh. That Thai Vi Temple, Tam Coc Bich Dong, Dong Tien, Xuyen Thuy action, are ravishing, magica and here is an opportunity to commemorate the merits of Tran King.
