Tourists who love extreme sea sports now have a new destination to enjoy their hobby after an entertainment and sea sports complex opened on Hon Tam Island in Nha Trang Bay, the south central province of Khanh Hoa, on April 16.

At the complex, visitors can hire the submersible watercraft Seabreacher, the first of its kind in Vietnam. The two-seat vessel can travel at 33km per hour at a depth of 1.5 metres underwater. Another new service is Flyboard, a board connected by a long hose to a watercraft. With water forced down under pressure from the board, people can be lifted 9 – 10 metres in the air.

Tourists can also walk on the seabed by wearing a special helmet with the Seawalker dive. Other sports offered at the complex include tandem paragliding, jet skiing and kayaking. The complex is run by the Hon Tam Nha Trang Sea Joint Stock Company.

The Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee has recently approved an action programme for local tourism. It aims to welcome 5.5 million tourists to Khanh Hoa in 2017, including 1.7 million foreigners. The province wants investment in entertainment and shopping centres, along with yacht services touring Nha Trang Bay.
