A1 Hill is the most famous battle of Dien Bien Phu site. The hill is 32 meters high, 82 thousand square meters large and 500 meters west of the headquarters of the French during the Dien Bien Phu campaign. It was the scene of the fiercest fighting between Vietnamese and French armies in 1954.

A1 with the hills C1, C2, D, E create a solid wall shielding the center of Dien Bien Phu. This is the most important point - is like the "key" in the conglomerate base in Dien Bien Phu of the French colonialists back 1954. Today, hill A1 has been planned and renovated into an open area from morning to evening to serve tourists in and out of the country.
