Southern fruit festival 2017 to open in June

The 13th Southern Fruit Festival 2017 will take place from 1 June to 30 August 2017 in Suoi Tien Culture Tourism Site (District 9, Ho Chi Minh City) with many attractive activities.

The event will have various activities including a fruit floating-market, folk games, animal shaped fruit displays, most delicious fruit contest, and an ornamental tree and animal exhibition. Notably, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase fruits at discounted prices of 20-40%.

The festival is an opportunity for localities, garden centers and visitors to meet and exchange ideas about the new seedlings. The annual event aims to promote southern fruits to domestic and foreign visitors.

One of the highlight activities of the festival is the Asian street food festival presenting the hottest street food trends that will be organized  on June 1-11.

The event’s organizers, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Tourism and the Department of Industry and Trade, will also offer 100 scholarships worth VND200 million to disadvantaged students.
