Hoi An ancient town to expand walking area for tourists

Hoi An, the little charming town in central Vietnam that has successfully demotorized some of its most beautiful streets, is expanding its walking zone. The Culture and Sports Center of Hoi An city announced that the city will expand the area for walking streets at Hoi An Ancient Town from April 12.

The area of walking streets for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles include streets Tran Phu, Nguyen Hue and Cong Nu Ngoc Hoa, Nguyen Hue- Phan Chu Trinh Crossroad, along Hoai River, at opposite side of the ancient town.

Besides that, the city will kick off activities of culture and entertainment as folk games, food night market and art streets that are expected to attract more and more arrivals and develop tourist industry and economy for the city.

Accordingly, the project was approved by the People’s Committee of Hoi An city on June 11, 2004 which becomes a typical culture tourism product of Hoi An city.

The streets open daily at 9am-11am, 3pm-9.30pm (in rainy season) and 3pm- 10pm (in dry season).
