3,000 people to wear Ao dai on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street

As many as 3,000 people will wear Ao dai to perform on the red carpet on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street in Ho Chi Minh city at 19h00 on March 5th. This event aims to honour the ever-lasting beauty of Vietnamese Ao dai to all people and international tourists.

On February 23rd, Ho Chi Minh city Department of Tourism held a press briefing on the Ho Chi Minh city Ao dai Festival 2017.

Accordingly, the festival will take place from March 3rd to 17th, featuring 13 activities in areas such as Nguyen Hue pedestrian street, the Youth Cultural House, the War Remnants Museum and the Museum of Southern Women.

The event will open on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian street in District 1 on March 3rd with a fashion show highlighting the unique traits of the Vietnamese Ao dai. The show “Charming Vietnamese Ao Dai” will feature 30 models showing off the latest Ao dai collections by designers such as Si Hoang, Thuan Viet and Vo Viet Chung.

The event aims to honour and promote traditional cultural values, as well as the beauty and grace of the Ao dai, which has become a symbol of feminine beauty in Vietnam.
