Introduction to Phu Quoc Island

Phu Quoc, also known as Pearl Island, is the largest island in Vietnam and also the largest one of 22 islands in the Gulf of Thailand. Therefore, it is one of attractive destinations in Vietnam.

The island is part of Kiên Giang province, has a total area of 574 square kilometres (222 sq m2) and a permanent population of approximately 85,000. The district of Phú Quốc includes the island proper and 21 smaller islets. The district seat, Dương Đông, is located on the Northwest, and is also the largest town on the island. The economy is centered around fishing, agriculture and a fast-growing tourism sector; Phú Quốc being one of the most popular tourist destinations of Vietnam.
Phu Quoc is famous in producing the two traditional products: fish sauce and pepper. Fish sauce in Phu Quoc is one of the most popular and be preferred by most of Vietnamese people. ( The other is Phan Thiet fish sauce , Lang co fish sauce..) . Phu Quoc is surrounding by the sea that supplied the main material ( fishes ) for this industry plus their secret ingredients that made the Phu Quoc fish sauce has a good smell and taste.

Introduction to Phu Quoc IslandPepper is cultivated inland by many farmers, in the North of this Island. Pepper in Phu Quoc also well known as its strong taste for the gustation.
Nowadays, Phu Quoc is the best place for weekend relaxation after a long working week. There are flight routes from Ho Chi Minh City, Rach Gia to Phu Quoc every day. It takes just 1.5 hours by speed boat from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc and around 2.5 hours from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc.
By its natural beauties, quiet Island but luxury services, specially their nice beaches, the volume of local and international tourists came to Phu Quoc increased day after day. Many 4 & 5* Resorts were built by many International or Joint Venture cooperation on purpose to attract more and more tourists.
